Peace Country volleyball player’s team drops Spanish women’s league semi-final

Wanham’s Quinn Pelland and her CV Haris teammates have been eliminated from the playoffs in the Spanish women’s volleyball league.

CV Haris lost 3-2 to CD Heidelberg Friday, April 17, in the second match of the best-of-three series.

CV Haris won the first two sets, 25-22 and 28-26, before dropping the next three, 25-23, 25-22 and 15-10.

They also lost the first match 3-2 on Saturday, April 11.

Both teams are based in the Canary Islands.

After finishing in eighth place in the regular season standings, CV Haris beat the first-place team in the opening round of the playoffs.

CD Heidelberg, the defending league champion, will now play Seville-based Cajasol Juvasa in the final, starting on Saturday, April 25.
