Peace Country volleyball player’s team drops Spanish women’s league semi-final

Wanham’s Quinn Pelland and her CV Haris teammates have been eliminated from the playoffs in the Spanish women’s volleyball league.

CV Haris lost 3-2 to CD Heidelberg Friday, April 17, 3- 2 in the second match of the best-of-three series.

CV Haris won the first two sets, 25-22 and 28-26, before dropping the next three, 25-23, 25-22 and 15-10.

They also lost the first match 3-2 on Saturday, April 11.

Both teams are based in the Canary Islands.

After finishing in eighth place in the regular season standings, CV Haris beat the first place team in the opening round of the playoffs.

CD Heidelberg, the defending league champion, will now play Seville-based Cajasol Juvasa in the final, starting on Saturday, April 25.
