County of Grande Prairie adopts new MDP
The County of Grande Prairie has adopted the new Municipal Development Plan.
The plan was adopted during Monday’s Special Council Meeting following a public hearing Mar. 9, and what county officials call extensive public feedback between 2023 and 2025 as part of the Plan Your County project.
The county says this plan balances the needs of the county’s communities and guides future development through documents such as the land use bylaw and area structure plans.
“We would like to thank residents for their participation in this important project,” says Reed Desroches, Director of Planning Services at the County. “Their feedback shaped the plan and ensures the county is growing in a way that aligns with the vision residents have for our county. The MPD provides a strong foundation for long-term planning across the county and future policy and plan updates.”
