Elks bringing Hometown Tour to Grande Prairie this weekend

The Edmonton Elks are bringing their Hometown Tour to Grande Prairie this weekend. 

Some Elks players, along with some University of Alberta football players from this area, will be running camps for minor and high school players Saturday and Sunday at the County Sportsplex. 

The team says on its website that this will give these players a chance “to train with professionals and local role models.”

The first minor camp will go from 6-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, with the first high school camp following from 7:30-9 p.m.

Sunday’s camp times will be 9-10:30 a.m. for minor football players and 10:30-noon for high school participants.

Players are asked to bring a helmet, mouth guard, shoulder pads, and cleats.

Registration is available through the Elks’ website.
