Peerless Lake man arrested after stabbing attempt & resisting arrest

Red Earth Creek RCMP took a suspect into custody last week, following an attempted stabbing report at almost 3 a.m.

On Saturday, Apr. 18, RCMP arrived at the scene at 2:44 a.m., with the caller saying a man attempted to stab him and punched him in the face, causing him to bleed.

Mounties located the suspect in the area, and after allegedly resisting arrest, he was taken into custody on five charges:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault
  • Obstructing a police officer
  • Resisting arrest
  • Mischief

Fourty-nine-year-old Alex Julius Okemow of Peerless Lake was remanded into custody with a court date set for June 30.
