Grande Prairie Kidney and Transplant Health Forum returns to NWP

Apr 24, 2026 | 12:00 PM

The Northern Alberta and Territories branch of the Kidney Foundation is once again holding a free community event at Northwestern Polytechnic on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

The second annual Grande Prairie Kidney & Transplant Health Forum is for anyone interested in learning more about kidney health and transplantation by bringing together kidney and transplant experts.

“Last year’s forum showed just how important these conversations are for our community,” says Krysta Gendreau, Community Engagement Manager at The Kidney Foundation NABT Branch. “People came to learn, but they also came to connect with healthcare professionals, with patient partners, and with others who understand the kidney journey. We’re excited to return this year and continue building that supportive community in Grande Prairie.”

The 2026 forum will feature a diverse lineup of speakers discussing topics ranging from nutrition and pain management to mental wellness and navigating the transplant journey.

“The success of last year’s event reinforced how valuable it is to bring education and support directly into communities, and our goal is to empower people with knowledge while creating a space where they feel seen, supported, and connected,” adds Gendreau. “When people have access to reliable information and a network of support, they feel more confident navigating kidney disease and transplantation.”

It goes from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Collins Recital Hall, pre-registration is required.
