RCMP investigating alleged fraud investment scheme in Manning

Apr 24, 2026 | 12:37 PM

Manning RCMP and the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) are currently investigating an alleged fraudulent investment scheme in the community.

On Feb. 17, ASC released an Investor Alert warning the public that an entity, BG Wealth Sharing, is “not registered in Alberta;” later confirming “that an entity, located on 4 Avenue in Manning , may be engaged in providing investment contracts and trading in securities without dealer or adviser registration.”

On April 13, Officers then began their investigation with ASC, and as it progressed, ASC says they have now “identified warning signs that this entity may be a fraudulent investment scheme.”

ASC adds that this scheme can be easily confusing for investors, as it closely resembles BG Wealth Group Inc. and other BG Wealth entities that appear to be operating as an Ontario-based real estate investment and financial consultancy, but is advising residents to remain vigilant when investing.

Manning RCMP is now asking anyone who thinks they may be a victim of investment fraud from this agency to contact the detachment at 780-836-3007 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
