TikTok threatening Peace River schools under investigation
Peace River RCMP are investigating a TikTok making threats to local schools.
Mounties were made aware of the two-day-old re-posted video last night (Wednesday, May 6) at 8:33 p.m., and said it made threats towards schools with the unknown account who reposted the video, writing a caption that mentioned “Peace River was next.”
At this time, RCMP say “there is no indication of an imminent threat at a specific location,” but they have been in contact with local schools to review lockdown procedures, to ensure “the safety of those within.”
In a social media post, the Peace River School Division says they are aware of the threats involving Glenmary School and T.A. Norris School, noting that if the situation arises, information will be sent directly to parents or guardians, as well as the schools and PRSD’s website.
