Hwy 685 reopened for one lane

Changes have been made to the detour impacting traffic along Highway 685 today.

The Municipal District of Peace has reopened the highway to one lane after previously closing it between Range Road 244 and 245 because of failing infrastructure near the bridge between the intersections.

The open lane is 3.6 meters in width, and large loads and equipment are asked to continue to use the detour set up by La Prairie Group.

Drivers using the detour are being advised to plan for delays and anticipate worsening road conditions due to a lack of dust control.
