Dawson wins two silver medals and breaks multiple records at international competition
Grande Prairie’s Oliver Dawson continues to break his own and other Canadian records in the pool after competing overseas in the AP Race London International 2026.
The 18-year-old is steadily climbing the world rankings, as he broke two longstanding Canadian records at the meet and will bring home two silver medals.
The first record broken was in the Men’s 50m Breaststroke Super Final on the first day of competition with a time of 27.29. That broke Scott Dickens 2009 supersuited era record of 27.45. Dawson entered the day with a lifetime best of 27.46.
The second record Oliver broke during the event also came at the expense of Dickens longstanding record, but this time for his 2012 Olympic Games Men’s 100m Breaststroke prelims record of 59.85. Oliver swam a time of 59.55 to set the new national record.
