Two new dog parks are being developed in the Hamlet Clairmont and the Whispering Ridge neighbourhood.

County of Grande Prairie Council approved the projects at their regular scheduled meeting yesterday (Monday, May 26) at an estimated cost of $40,429 in total; $21,830 for Whispering Ridge, and $18,599 for Clairmont.

During their meeting Council did ask admin to seek alternative pricing for benches, waste bins and signage.

The Whispering Ridge off-leash park will be located along 149 Avenue, while Clairmont’s will reside in the existing ball diamond along 107A Avenue.

During their meeting County Council provided an update on the Hythe Arena cooling system line.

Up to $300,000 was approved from the General Operating Reserve to complete repairs and cleanup work.

An update was also shared on the Teepee Creek Water Well Drilling; “Council directed Administration to secure standardized pricing for the Teepee Creek Water Well Drilling Project through an invite-only process and offer the project to all nine eligible service locations based on the lowest-priced submission.”

County Council also accepted information on potential price differences between each project, and asked admin to provide an update on that after the first four wells have been built.
