RBC Foundation donates $400,000 to Maskwa Medical Centre

Maskwa Medical Centre will be receiving additional funding to support its construction costs.

$400,000 will be donated over two years by the RBC Foundation Community Spaces Grant as part of their annual effort to support improvements to community buildings and the development of new spaces.

The funds will aid construction costs and the installation of two elevators to reduce barriers for patients and visitors to the health care facility.

The centre aims to improve access to medical specialists and services for communities in Northern Alberta.

“RBC Foundation’s Community Spaces Grant and its commitment to improving accessibility closely align with our mission at Maskwa Medical Center, to ensure that everyone can access the care they need without barriers,” said Ken Drysdale, Maskwa Medical Center Chairman. “This investment is helping us build a fully accessible facility that will bring specialist care closer to home for residents across Northern Alberta. From expanding access to specialist services through the Maskwa Medical Specialist Clinic, to supporting the training of future physicians, this facility will have a lasting and meaningful impact on the health of our communities.”

In 2026 the RBC Foundation is investing a combined $12.5 million to support 41 communities across the county.
