Fibre optics installation to cause delays on Clairmont streets

Jun 3, 2026 | 2:13 PM

The long-reviled lack of fibre optics infrastructure in Clairmont will come to an end this summer.

Alberta-based fibre broadband provider, the Canadian Fibre Optics Corporation (CFOC) says once completed, 1,300 residents and local businesses will have access to the infrastructure.

To complete the project, Clairmont streets will see construction throughout the summer, as crews work to replace “outdated cable and copper,” as they were not designed to handle today’s internet needs.

CFOC says “select streets” may also see traffic disruptions due to the project.
