Youth charged after threats against Sexsmith school

Clairmont RCMP say a 13-year-old youth is facing charges after violent threats were made against a school in Sexsmith. 

Mounties say at 11:30 p.m. on June 4, they got a report of a student “threatening violence towards students” at the school. 

Police say in a release that they identified a suspect after talking to other students. 

They then talked to and arrested the suspect on a charge of uttering threat, and a firearm was seized from the suspect’s home.
