Jun 10, 2026 | 3:17 PM

Engineering professionals and students from the University of Calgary are visiting Grande Prairie Public School Division schools this week.

Dr. Anis Haque and two students from U of C’s Association for the Advancement of Science and Education program are bringing STEM learning experiences to classrooms through interactive sessions that explore topics like sound, how computers work, and buoyancy.

Students will also be able to take part in hands-on engineering challenges like the popular Ship the Chip design activity.

They are going to Crystal Park School, Maude Clifford Public School, École Montrose, Avondale School, and Roy Bickell Public School.

The AASEE and GPPSD have had a long-standing partnership in place since 2013.
