Clairmont RCMP asking partner agencies to refer youth to Camp Little Buffalo

Jun 11, 2026 | 1:01 PM

Partnering agencies with the Clairmont RCMP are being invited to refer at risk youth to attend Camp Little Buffalo this year.

The camp has been around for 25 years and is aimed at giving Grande Prairie area at-risk youth the opportunity to develop good self-esteem habits, foster positive self-image, communication skills, decision making, goal setting, problem solving, and develop positive attitude towards police officers and other community partners.

There are two different age groups for the camp. The July 21-23 camp is for those between the ages of 13 and 15. The July 14-16 camp is for those 9-12 years old.

Camp Little Buffalo offers a variety of programs and activities such as:

  • Sports
  • Hiking
  • Crafts
  • Police Dog Presentations
  • Technical Search and Rescue Presentations
  • Archery
  • Swimming
  • Information Sessions on self-esteem and other character-building attributes.

Mounties in Clairmont say teachers, parents, and community members can refer youth to the camp who would benefit from a positive, engaging summer experience.

Corporal Nunzio Pasquarelli with the Clairmont RCMP said in a news release; “Camp Little Buffalo is a great way to connect and engage with at risk youth in the community in a positive and constructive manner. The RCMP looks forward to inviting youth to Camp Little Buffalo this year.”
