Evan Magee breaks Medicine Hat Stampede track record as Chase Vigen leads Top 3 in finals

The stage is set for the final round of the 2026 Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede.

Night 3 ended Saturday, Jun. 13, with Grande Prairie’s own Chanse Vigen taking the top spot in the aggregate with a combined three-day total of 3:06.29.

Vigen will be joined Sunday, June 14, by Layne Flad with a total of 3:08.92 and Logan Gorst with a total of 3:09.29 in second and third place in the aggregate, respectively.

The top scorer of the evening was Evan Magee of Saskatoon, who ended the night with a top time of 0:59.72, breaking the 1:00.17 record, set by Kurt Bensmiller in 2011, by nearly half a second.

Despite the record-breaking achievement, Magee ended the aggregate in 21st place with a three-day total of 3:14.28.

Vigen, Flad, and Gorst face off Sunday at 2:00 p.m. MT in the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede finals.
