Preliminary hearing to be held next May in double-murder case

Jun 16, 2026 | 6:02 AM

Alberta Justice says preliminary hearing dates have been set in a double-murder case.

The hearing for Curtis Phillip Halladay is set for May 25-28, 2027.

He is facing two charges of second-degree murder after the deaths of a 44-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man.

RCMP said at the time that early on December 27, 2025, they were called out to reports of a shooting on a rural road near Range Road 35 and Township Road 730 in the County of Grande Prairie.

Two people were found dead at the scene.

Halladay was later arrested that same day near McLennan.
