New playground open at Good Shepherd School after eight years
The new playground at Good Shepherd School has officially opened.
School students, staff, families, and more gathered for the opening ceremony last week after 8 years of development spurred on by the Friends of the Shepherds Society.
Approximately $350,000 was raised to develop the playground, and many of the society members and campaign sponsors attended the opening ceremony, including Peace River Mayor Shelly Shannon and Holy Family Catholic Regional Division Superintendent Victoria Cornick.
“This playground did not build itself, and it certainly did not fund itself,” said Cornick. “In our Catholic tradition, we are called to love our neighbours, and there is no better example of that than investing in the children of this community. Your generosity turned a dream into reality, and our students are the direct beneficiaries of your kindness.”
