Fort St. John arrest robbery suspect June 18

Fort St. John RCMP arrested an individual for a robbery Thursday.

On June 18, around 8:50 a.m. RCMP received multiple calls regarding an individual brandishing what appeared to be a firearm at staff of a local business near Alaska Road North.

RCMP immediately responded and arrested a suspect near Mathews Park after a short foot chase.

Mounties say the brandished object was quickly determined to not be a real firearm, and the 33-year-old male suspect was held in custody and charged with robbery, resisting a peace officer, and breach of probation.
