Severe thunderstorm watch issued, funnel cloud reported near Clairmont

A yellow watch for a severe thunderstorm is in place for the City and County of Grande Prairie and the MD of Greenview, except for the Grande Cache and Fox Creek areas.

Environment Canada says that current conditions could lead to the development of severe storms that can produce wind, hail and rain.

Conditions are also favourable for the development of funnel clouds.

Alberta Storm Watch says in a social media post that a funnel cloud was spotted near Clairmont just before 6 p.m. Monday, June 29.
