UPDATE: The south part of the BC Peace is under a thunderstorm watch, while the part from Chetwynd north past Fort St. John is under a thunderstorm warning.

Weather watches and warnings for the Peace have now been updated.

A severe thunderstorm yellow watch now includes the area from Saddle Hills County east to High Prairie north to the boundary with the Northwest Territories.

The B.C.  Peace has a similar watch in place.

A yellow watch for severe thunderstorms remains in place for the City and County of Grande Prairie and the MD of Greenview, except for the Grande Cache and Fox Creek areas.

Environment Canada says that current weather conditions could lead to the development of severe storms that can produce wind, hail and rain.

The Paddle Prairie area and Mackenzie County are under yellow warnings for heat.

The weather office says daytime highs around 30, with lows from 14 to 20, are expected until Thursday.
