GP motorist nearly doubles speed limit on Highway 43

Clairmont RCMP are reminding the public that “speed kills” after a local was caught going over 200km/h.

Last night at 10:40 p.m. (Monday, July 6), an officer conducting radar work along Highway 43 between GP and Wembly stopped a driver who registered 202km/h in a 110km zone.

The 46-year-old Grande Prairie driver was given a mandatory court summons for both speeding and careless driving.

Mounties are also using this as an opportunity to remind the public to “slow down and drive according to the rules of the road.”
