New fire hydrant installed at Sunrise House
A new fire hydrant has been installed outside of the Sunrise House emergency youth shelter.
In partnership with Aquatera Utilities and the City of Grande Prairie, the new hydrant will ensure immediate access to water in the event of a fire or other emergency and reflects a shared commitment to support the safety and well-being of vulnerable youth in the region.
“This project demonstrates what can be accomplished when organizations work together to address community needs,” said Vaughn Bend, Chief Executive Officer of Aquatera. “By partnering with the City of Grande Prairie and Sunrise House, we were able to provide important infrastructure that will help support the long-term safety of the youth and staff who rely on this facility every day.”
Sunrise House provides safety for young people experiencing homelessness, family conflict, abuse, and other crises.
