Beaverlodge RCMP expand Amber Alert search area for missing boy

UPDATE 3: The Canadian Press is reporting that the search has been expanded to all of B.C. and into much of the Northwest Territories and the Yukon. Investigators were initially looking for a black 2015 Toyota Tundra, but it was found by officers. The report says he was taken on Tuesday from Valhalla Centre.

UPDATE 2: RCMP now believe that they are travelling in a 2006 red Ford F-350, with an Alberta license plate number CXW-8820.

UPDATE: Beaverlodge RCMP have updated this Amber Alert.

The alert for six-year-old Lanakai Morrison has been expanded to include the area from Grande Cache up to Chateh, within the provincial and territorial boundaries to the west and north.

Mounties have also provided a photo of the alleged kidnapper, his mother, Krista Morrison.

Beaverlodge RCMP have issued an Amber Alert, as they believe a six-year-old boy has been abducted by his mother.

Mounties allege that Lanakai Morrison was taken by his mother, Krista Morrison, on July 7.

Lanakai is described as “white, male, slight build, long light brown hair, and brown eyes.” A picture has not been provided by authorities.

Krista Morrison is described as “a 35-year-old female, 5 ft 8 in, medium build, with long dark brown hair and brown eyes.”

Police add that “Krista may be driving a black 2015 Toyota Tundra with AB license plate CTN9517.”

RCMP also say she may be with a 35-year-old man named Daniel Ludwig. He is described as white, “5 ft 11 in, large build, shaved head and brown eyes.

Police add that “they may also have Karl Morrison with them, a four-year-old white male, slight build, long dirty blonde hair and brown eyes.”

Mounties say people should not approach these people if they spot them.

Witnesses are instead asked to contact the Beaverlodge RCMP at 780-354-2955 or their local police service if they have information that can help locate them.
