Thursday marks the start to ‘4 Days in the Wild’

The 108th edition of the Teepee Creek Stampede kicks off Thursday, July 9!

TP Stampede Association President Tanner Sorken says he is looking forward to a great weekend.

Sorken says the schedule looks to be the same compared to years before, but the new skyboxes are now complete.

“We weren’t able to finish them last year, and we were able to finish them this year, and they’re beautiful. They look really good, and it’s gonna be very eye-catching.”

He says they chose different entertainment for the beer gardens this year, catering to a vast audience with two headliners on Friday and a trio on Saturday.

“My favourite parts, if I had to pick, are looking after the beer gardens and the rodeo.”

Sorken says the WPCA is also back for the second year in a row. There will be 18 drivers in six heats for the big chucks, after the pony chucks.

He also mentioned the show cannot happen without volunteers, and says around 40 to 50 people have been going to the grounds nightly to help in preparation.

Four Days in the Wild starts with Family Day, presented by Speedy Glass, starting at 8:00 a.m. with the Future Stampeders Junior Rodeo and Junior Slack. There will be family day activities at the grounds from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Later, at 6:00 p.m., Sponsor Appreciation Night will feature the Grand Entry and introduction of Miss TP Creek Stampede contestants, followed by the TP Ranch Rodeo and the Family Dance with Trevor Panczak for entertainment.

Friday’s schedule is:
