Laboucane stays atop aggregate in Calgary, Teepee Creek gears up for three days of WPCA

Jul 10, 2026 | 1:08 PM

It was a hot Thursday night down in Calgary with perfect track conditions for the seventh running of the 2026 Rangeland Derby.

Jamie Laboucane held onto his top spot in the aggregate standings.

Laboucane was the day money winner after posting the fastest run with a time of 1:10.18. Following in second was Jason Glass, the winner of the two nights before. Grande Prairie native Chanse Vigen was third on the night.

The top three in the aggregate heading into tonight’s (Friday) heats are Laboucane, Vigen and Glass.

With just two nights of qualifying heats remaining, every driver will be battling for one of three spots in Sunday’s Championship Final Heat. The top three drivers in the aggregate standings following racing on Saturday night will advance to the winner-take-all final, where the 2026 Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby Champion will be decided.

The Teepee Creek Stampede is hosting WPCA wagons tonight (Friday) through Sunday. The Evening Grand Entry starts at 6 p.m.

Organizers say 18 big rigs in six heats will be on the track each night following the pony chucks.
