Tournier leads WPCA standings after Night 1 in Teepee Creek, Vigen posts fastest time on the night at Rangeland Derby

The guy they call Lightning Luke had the fastest time on Night 1 of WPCA chuckwagon racing at the Teepee Creek Stampede.

Luke Tournier had a time of 56.13 seconds to take first on the night. He was followed by Cody Ridsdale, who finished 1.65 seconds back D.J. DeSutter and Dale Young round out the top four.

Wagon racing continues Saturday and Sunday. The Grand Entry starts at 6 p.m. both nights.

At the Calgary Stampede’s Rangeland Derby, Chanse Vigen had the quickest time Friday night, clocking in at 1:10.88. That was 16-hundredths of a second faster than Jason Glass. Kris Molle and Rae Croteau Jr. round out the top four.

Jamie Laboucane still leads the aggregate, followed by Vigen, Jason Glass and Chad Fike.

The top three after Saturday night’s heats will advance to Sunday’s championship final.
