Grande Prairie cowboy wins Calgary Stampede buckle

Grande Prairie’s Ryder Topolinski has won the junior steer riding crown at the Calgary Stampede.

Topolinski had an 83 on Saturday to take first place in the final four. Gunner Armstrong of Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, was second with an 82.50

Topolinski topped the aggregate with a combined score of 239 and won $5000.

Also on Saturday, Charlie Lake product Tyrel Roberts had an 84.50 in the saddle broncs, He finished eighth on the day and did not advance to the final round set for Sunday.
