County Council approves loan guarantee for Maskwa Medical Centre

County of Grande Prairie Council has given a third reading to a bylaw authorizing a loan guarantee to the Maskwa Medical Centre.

The bylaw would provide a $5.84 million loan guarantee toward the centre’s $23.35 million construction loan from ATB Financial.

Last month the County ran a public engagement survey to gather resident feedback on the bylaw, with over 66 per cent of the 172 participants voting in favour of the loan guarantee.

The Maskwa Medical Centre is currently on track to open this year.
