Council approves new contract for technology, equipment for Grande Prairie Police Service
City Council has approved a 10-year contract for technologies and equipment for the Grande Prairie Police Service.
Council approved the agreement with Axon Public Safety Canada Inc. at a special meeting held on Tuesday.
A report compiled by the police service says the contract, worth just under $4 million, will provide “equipment, software, licensing, support, maintenance, cloud-based services, and lifecycle replacement programs.”
This will cover things like “body-worn cameras, conducted energy weapons, digital evidence management, drone program software, in-car video systems for Enforcement Services and associated support services,” says that same report.
