Local competitors going to the National High School Finals Rodeo

A five-person contingent from the Peace will be competing at the upcoming National High School Finals Rodeo.  

It will start on Sunday, July 19, and run through Saturday, July 25, in Lincoln, Nebraska. 

Pacen Hemingson will compete in bareback, Sawyer Lacey in breakaway roping and pole bending, Virgil Paley in saddle bronc riding, Calvin Scott in bareback riding and steer wrestling, and Kennedy Smith in goat tying. 

All but Lacey and Scott competed last year when this same event was held in Rock Springs, Wyoming, although Paley competed in team roping.
