Athletes from around the Peace competing at the Alberta Summer Games in Strathcona County

Around 350 athletes from nearly two dozen communities around the Peace are representing Zone 8 at the Alberta Summer Games. 

Strathcona County is the host community this year. 

The games got going with the opening ceremony Thursday night (July 16). 

Zone 8 has a gold and a bronze medal so far, both coming in athletics. 

The games will continue through Sunday.
