Kids Can Catch event running at JDA Sportsplex fishing pond

The County of Grande Prairie is hosting an event this weekend for young anglers in the region.

Kids Can Catch will run Saturday, July 18 at their leisure fishing pond beside the JDA Sportsplex from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is designed to “create a non-competitive, family-friendly fishing environment designed to introduce new and young anglers to the sport, while learning about fish conservation and responsible angling practices.”

The County says residents are invited to bring their own gear, but rods will be provided to youth who need one.

Pre-registration is required for anyone 16 and under and can be done on the County’s website.
