TC Energy opens new natural gas pipeline near Grande Prairie

Jul 21, 2026 | 2:17 PM

A new natural gas pipeline has been put into service outside Grande Prairie.

TC Energy has announced the Valhalla North Project is now in service, adding 33 kilometres of new pipeline and continuing the company’s investment in Alberta’s natural gas infrastructure.

The line, along with the Berland River project northwest of Edson, represents a $500 million investment in the NGTL system.

The projects resulted in over $24 million awarded to local Indigenous businesses, the creation of 775 jobs, and $4.4 million for local public services across the County of Grande Prairie, Saddle Hills County, and the MD of Greenview.

TC Energy says these projects demonstrate how investing in critical energy infrastructure supports strong communities and a strong economy.
