EC predicting smoky conditions to improve within 24 hours

Residents in the Peace region can breathe a little easier today (Wednesday, July 22).

Environment Canada has downgraded the air quality advisory for the region to yellow.

EC says smoke conditions can change rapidly; however, they do expect them to improve later today or tomorrow (Thursday, July 23).

According to WeatherStats, the Air Quality Health Index is steadily declining to a safer rating; it currently sits at 8.0, down from the high of 11.0 it reached yesterday.
