Last week to donate “gently used” youth sports equipment

This is the last week KidSport Peace Country and Sport Central are collecting used sports equipment for at-need kids in the region.

Residents are encouraged to donate any “gently used” gear or bikes, but are in need of certain items:

  • Youth Baseball Cleats (Sizes Y8–2)
  • Baseball Bats and Gear Bags
  • Youth Baseball Pants (18″–24″ waist)
  • Youth Rollerblades (Sizes Y8–4)
  • Rugby Cleats
  • Soccer Balls
  • Basketballs

Three donation locations can be found in Grande Prairie; Westgate Boston Pizza, Canadian Tire (Bikes not accepted at this location) and Fountain Tire in Whispering Ridge.

Both non-profits ask residents to take a few minutes and go through their garages and storage units, as “every donated item directly helps kids in need get into the game across the Peace region.”
