Chariot Festival taking place in Grande Prairie during Heritage Day Aug. 1

Jul 31, 2026 | 6:05 AM

The Heritage Day Hindu Chariot Festival will be taking place in Grande Prairie on Saturday.

The festival features a large, elaborately decorated chariot pulled in a parade procession, leaving the Montrose Cultural Centre and heading towards the amphitheatre at Muskoseepi Park.

Organized by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness’ newly incorporated Grande Prairie branch, the event is meant to celebrate diversity, music, art, education and family.

ISKCON Grande Prairie is inviting the public to join in the processions and then attend the gathering in the park for live music, interactive experiences and family activities.

The procession is slated to begin around 11:00 a.m. Saturday, and the event will go until 3:30 p.m.
