Alberta RCMP officer involved shooting in Fox Creek
One person is in hospital following a police shooting in Fox Creek Wednesday morning.
On Aug. 4, 2026, at 10:15 p.m., Fox Creek RCMP received a call for service for a domestic situation involving a weapon on 5A Street between 7 and 8 Avenue. Mounties say containment was set up and numerous RCMP members responded to the area. Police say the RCMP Critical Incident Program responded which includes the Emergency Response Team and crisis negotiators.
Throughout the night, Mounties say multiple attempts were made to get the male suspect to surrender, however, at 5:18 a.m., there was a confrontation with the suspect which resulted in an officer discharging their service firearm, striking the suspect.
Police say immediate advanced medical care was provided at the scene by responding officers, and the suspect was transported to hospital via STARS air ambulance. No officers were injured during this call.
