Expanded recycling program coming to Grande Prairie
Grande Prairie residents will have access to a broader range of recycling options this fall.
Effective Oct. 1, the province is introducing standardized recycling services across Alberta.
“Standardizing accepted materials across Alberta will make it easier for residents to understand what can be recycled and help keep more recyclable material out of the landfill,” says City of Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton. “Grande Prairie residents will have more opportunities to recycle while continuing to use the convenient service they already know.”
Under these changes, residents can expect no monthly or annual charge for curbside recycling, continued weekly collection in transparent bags, and a broader list of acceptable materials.
