Beaverlodge ED expecting 72 hours of disruptions this week

Four disruptions are scheduled to take place this week at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital Emergency Department.

The ED will be without a doctor the first time today (Monday, Aug. 10) , from 8 a.m. until 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug 11.

Another three are then scheduled to take place starting on Wednesday, Aug 12:

  • 8 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 12 – 8 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 13
  • 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 13 – 8 a.m., Friday, Aug. 14
  • 8 p.m., Friday Aug. 14 – 8 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 15

During these disruptions, nursing staff will remain on site for urgent triage, assessments and referrals, while 911 calls will be redirected to neighbouring facilities.

AHS is also reminding residents about the Virtual Physician Program, which is being piloted at this hospital.

At this time, AHS says all of these disruptions are temporary and could be cancelled if coverage is found.
