County of Grande Prairie approves 2026-2027 Advocacy Priorities
The County of Grande Prairie has approved it 2026-2027 Advocacy Priorities to help guide County Council’s advocacy efforts.
Major priorities will include lobbying the province to adopt a new electricity distribution pricing model, securing funding to construct Highway 40X connecting Highways 40 and 43, and supporting the Maskwa Medical Centre’s advocacy for an Alternative Relationship Plan for its specialized diagnostic clinic.
“Council reviews its advocacy priorities annually to ensure residents’ interests and objectives continue to be advanced to other levels of government,” said County Reeve Amanda McDonald. “Our priorities are key to ensuring quality of life and have been strategically selected to address infrastructure needs and the urgent health care and economic challenges facing residents and businesses across our region.”
