GP Transit services offering free passage to Folk Fest attendees
The City of Grande Prairie will be offering free transit to Bear Creek Folk Festival attendees this weekend.
From Aug. 14-16, festival wristband holders can get regular transit service at no cost, as well as late evening shuttle buses after the final performances each night.
“Bear Creek Folk Festival brings people together, showcases our community, and creates an experience that residents and visitors can enjoy,β said City of Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton. βThe city is proud to support the festival and help make it more accessible through free transit and safe transportation options throughout the weekend.β
Transit services will run on their regular routes and schedule during the festival; the late-night shuttles will leave transit stop 830, near the 102 entrance to the park, at 12:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
