Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued for Peace Region

More thunderstorms could be in store for parts of the Peace Country Tuesday (August 11) afternoon and evening.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the region, including south of the Peace River east to Kinuso, and ends below Grovedale and Little Smoky along Highway 43.

The national weather office says conditions are favourable for the development of storms that could produce strong winds and heavy rains, with localized flooding and heavy downpours possible.

Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions in visibility.
