City of GP completes petroleum release cleanup at Bear Creek

The City of Grande Prairie says the response to the recent petroleum hydrocarbon release in Bear Creek is now complete.

Containment booms and bird deterrents have been removed from the creek, and residents may resume recreational activities.

The City is thanking the public for their patience while the cleanup was ongoing.

At this time, the exact source and volume of the release reported on July 24 remains unknown.
