The second night of the World Chuckwagons Finals and the Battle of the Rockies saw a packed grandstand crowd down in Rocky Mountain House.

When the dust settled Thursday evening, it was chuckwagon driver Obrey Motowylo that pulled off the fastest time of the night with a penalty-free run of 1:16.94.

Motowylo tops the World Chuckwagon Standings with 1155.5 points, but is a mere one point behind Jason Glass in the Kirk’s Trail Tire Series Playoffs Standings.

The top five of the playoff standings have Grande Prairie native Chanse Vigen in third with 18 points, followed by Jamie Laboucane with 16 points in fourth, and Evan Salmond fifth with 15 points.

Following last night’s (August 13) performance, Glass still sits atop the Battle of the Rockies aggregate despite a third-place finish. For the 36 drivers competing this week, the one with the fastest four-day aggregate time following Saturday night’s heats will be crowned the 2026 Battle of the Rockies Champion.

The top four drivers in the playoff standings following Saturday night’s run will advance to Sunday afternoon’s Kirk’s Trail Tire Series Championship Final Heat, where they will compete for a share of $28,000 in cash, a one-year lease on a GMC truck, and the prestigious title of the Kirk’s Trail Tire Series Champion.

The World Champion Chuckwagon Driver will be crowned Saturday night, with the title going to the driver who accumulates the most points over the course of the season.
