Traffic signal pole inspections to begin this week

Inspections of traffic signal poles around the City of Grande Prairie are scheduled to start this week and into the beginning of September.

This work is to tentatively take place between Tuesday, Aug. 25, and Sunday, Sept. 6, with the timing subject to change based on scheduling and operational requirements.

Crews will be identifying the condition of the traffic signal poles and any maintenance that may need to be done.

The inspections only take 15-20 minutes. Traffic impacts will be brief, with temporary lane closures so crews can set up traffic controls, do the inspections, and clear the work zone.

Inspections are planned at:

  • 104 Avenue and 108 Street
  • 124 Avenue and 100 Street
  • 121 Avenue and 100 Street
  • 116 Avenue and 100 Street
  • 100 Avenue and 120 Street
  • 100 Avenue and 116 Street
  • 107 Avenue and 108 Street
  • 116 Avenue and 102 Street
  • 94 Avenue and 100 Street

Drivers are asked to watch for crews and temporary traffic controls and proceed with caution through active work zones.
