Aug 25, 2026 | 10:12 AM

UPDATE:

Some coverage has been found for a portion of the service disruption at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital Emergency department.

The ED will be open from 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, until 8:00 am. Thursday.

The site will now be without coverage from 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, and 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27 – 8:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28.

The Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital emergency department will be without an on-site physician for several days this week, starting Tuesday, Aug. 25.

Due to a clinical personnel shortage and an inability to secure temporary coverage, there will be no on-site physician from 8:00 p.m. Tuesday until 8:00 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, and again from 8:00 p.m. Thursday until 8:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28.

Patients are still asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency, as EMS will remain available to reroute callers to surrounding facilities.

AHS says nursing staff will remain on-site in the Emergency Department providing urgent triage and assessments, and a virtual emergency physician is currently scheduled to support all or part of these shifts.
