Back-to-school zones starting on Wednesday

Back-to-school is fast approaching, with Grande Prairie youth welcomed back to class starting on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

With that in mind, the Grande Prairie Police Service is reminding motorists that school zones will be back in effect every weekday from 7:30 a.m. till 4:30 p.m.

Police are asking drivers to slow down to 30km/h in these zones and watch for kids walking, biking and crossing the street.

GPPS adds that a little extra caution can make a big difference in keeping everyone safe.
