Sep 2, 2026 | 6:01 AM

The City of Grande Prairie is accepting nominations for its annual volunteer awards.

Residents are encouraged to recognize “those who go above and beyond to improve the quality of life” in both categories:

George Repka Outstanding Achievement Award

  • Recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to the community through recreation, culture, or social services. Nominees must demonstrate more than 20 years of service and a record of achievements that have created lasting benefits for Grande Prairie.

Bill Bowes Volunteer Organization of the Year Award

  • Recognizes a volunteer organization or foundation that has demonstrated excellence in community service, volunteerism, fundraising, and community development. Eligible organizations must operate within the City of Grande Prairie and have made a meaningful positive impact on residents.

Mayor Clayton says, “these awards offer an opportunity to celebrate the people and organizations whose efforts often happen behind the scenes but make a tremendous difference in the lives of others.”

“The generosity and commitment of volunteers help shape the vibrant, welcoming community we are proud to call home.”

Nominations are being accepted until Oct. 17 and can be submitted on the City’s website.
