CMHA expands recovery program into Peace River
The Canadian Mental Health Association is celebrating the expansion of its Recovery College program into Peace River.
With support from a micro-grant from West Fraser, CMHA expanded the program to communities outside Grande Prairie, offering free courses on mental health literacy and health and well-being.
The micro-grant allowed CMHA to introduce localized courses, bring in new peer supports, and initiate new community partnerships.
CMHA says a recent survey showed 91 per cent of participants in the Recovery College program felt better equipped to address issues, 89 per cent were more capable of managing stress, and 90 per cent felt better able to handle the impacts of their mental health.
